    A Welcome dance called "Fanga" is danced by Margo while rhythms are played by David. Explanation and verbal welcome are given while common words are spoken and taught to the audience and hand games are played. Students are then invited on stage to participate in a fashion, music and dance demonstration both on stage and in their audience seats. Everyone participates in a joyous rendition of an African counting song called Kye Kye R-Kule.

    A live student audience voyages back through musical time to the Medieval and Renaissance periods with Ars Antiqua. The children experience both instrumental and vocal settings of music from those distant eras in a participatory and enjoyable fashion. They journey to the court of Henry VIII, listen to tunes popular in the decade in which Columbus discovered the New World, experience popular music that existed 500 years before rock & roll, and sample the unusual sonorities or instruments such as recorders, krummhorns, viols, gemshorns, cornettini, rauschpfeifen, and others.
